Categories Comments Great for these types of students John Wood Community College is great for any student who is nervous or fearful of big campuses.
Bang for the buck The tuition is very affordable, but at the same time, the learning atmosphere is very professional.
What to do for fun I find going to the library fun. However, there are lounges and stores that are available for students to pass the time.
Food and Dining I, actually, have not eaten at the campus before. However, I do like that they send the lunch schedule straight to your email. They seem to have a wide variety of food to choose from.
Dorm Life While there was talk of putting some dorms at the Quincy campus, I am not sure if it followed through. So, for the moment , I have no review of the dorms.
Academic Rigor The classes at John Wood Community college are only difficult if the individual makes them difficult. I have felt that the classes were very entertaining, yet at the same time, interesting.
Tips for prospective students My tip for prospective students is to, just like any other school, be prepared to keep up on your work. It is best to stay focused on your goals and realize how important this really is.
In three sentences John Wood Community College is a great place to start off. Not only is the tuition very affordable, but there are many classes to choose from. The staff that I have met are also very friendly and helpful.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Plenty of awesome campus security, except one who takes his job very seriously and will not hesitate to give students parking or any other kind of ticket. I would rate about 9 out of 10.
Clubs and Activities Student government, psychology club, math clubs and etc.
What to do for fun There are several academic programs and extra curricular activities for students.
Food and Dining JWCC has lunch catered in by County Market Catering Services. The food is mediocre.
Dorm Life JWCC does not have dorms. 0
Academic Rigor Professional yet laid back. Instructors are there to see their students succeed. In most cases instructors are willing to go above and beyond for their students. Even if that means staying after class to make sure their students are comprehending the material. 10 out of 10.
Tips for prospective students Attendance is mandatory to a students success at JWCC. Secondly, students need to dedicate at least 2 hours per credit hour to their studies. Thirdly, JWCC has some of the best instructors who are more than qualified in their profession and can answer questions that students have on the area of study.
In three sentences I would rate JWCC a 9 out of 10. It is an outstanding school that is dedicated to the success of their students and equip them with the tools necessary for their chosen career.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This is a good school for self-starters and people looking to get a good jumping point. It is also good if you are looking for a cheap starting point like me. I know that I would be able to survive at a university easily, however it was price that drew me here.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared and don't slack off. Even though its a community college, its still college. There is still work involved and attendance is almost mandatory. It is also a good idea to stay on the good side with your teachers. Most of the professors are down to earth, nice people. The more you get to know them, the better off you will be in class as well as down the road if you need a reference when transferring.
Bang for the buck Being a community college, it is very cheap. You are looking at around $4000 a year. It is definitely worth saving the money considering most people are live at home while attending. The only costly thing will be food. The cafeteria runs about $5+ for a meal while the meals aren't that great to begin with.
Am enjoying being here It is ok, considering it is a community college. It is definitly not the typical college experience however, it is still very social and a good, CHEAP, jumping point for the rest of your college carreer.
Am learning a lot You learn quite a bit. The professors are super nice and willing to help you no matter what. The professors really know what they are teaching and are passionate about their subjects. This really helps when they are helping you and teaching since they put all they have into their work.
