The dorms are as good as you want them to be. The rooms and residence halls themselves are nice, but whether they remain that way is up to you and…
Dorms are fairly larger than most colleges. Various number of dorm houses with singles, doubles, and suites as well as town houses. At Pine Lake there are also a numerous…
The dorms here are very safe and comforting. We have night watches from 11 to 4am. There job is to sign you in the residence halls if you are not…
This depends on what dorm you end up living in. Smith is the worst and most populated. Van Ess (my dorm) is the typical. Not bad, but not the best…
COMMONS! One of the main reasons I chose Hartwick was because of the all-you-can-eat buffet style dinning.
Read MoreWide variety in food in a few stations. The food is very good. Breakfast usually opens at around 7:30am on thw weekdays, giving an opportunity to eat before class, it switches to lunch at around 11am and then dinner at 4pm. Weekends and break hours vary.
Read MoreThe food at Hartwick is decent. As a freshman, you will have an unlimited meal plan, meaning you can come as much as you want. There are several options available, whether it's the home style meal cooked daily (pasta, fish, chicken etc.), pizza which is always available, or the stir-fr station. The food will eventually fell repetitive, but this would be true at just about any college.
Read MoreFresh and healthy options, and friendly staff.
Read MoreThere is only one dining hall. The food is pretty much the same all the time. Take out in Oneonta is expensive like 10 dollars ( the minimum).
Read MoreWonderful. Worth part of the tuition.
Read MoreThere is only one dining hall on campus. The food is very good and there are many options to choose from. The hours of the dining hall could be improved. For instance, the dining hall closes every day between 3:00 and 4:00 to prepare for dinner. There are many classes that end around that time and it is hard to eat as they have significantly less options during this time. Also, the dining hall closes at 8:00 p.m. during the week and closes at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. This makes it difficult for busy students.
Read MoreAlthough I am not a member of greek life myself I'll tell you it is prominent at Hartwick. Both of my freshmen year roommates pledged in spring 2015 and they love it! Also, you don't have to join greek life to attend their awesome house parties!
Read MoreGreek life is prevalent, but not over powering. You will most likely be friends with people who are in a frat or sorority, but you won't ever feel pressured to join. It is entirely up to you.
Read MoreThe majority of Greek life primarily stays off campus. I am part of a fraternity called Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia which is for music. We are very academically centered and do not participate in traditional Greek life activities such as hazing and the such. I have not experienced any of the typical Greek life but from what I can tell, the problems associated with hazing have been addressed.
Read MoreThere are 3 sorrorities and 2 fraternities recognized.
Read MoreGreek Life is a strong connection to the world. Brother/Sisterhoods create a friendship and opporotunities for the future.
Read MoreThere are several different Fraternities and Sororities on campus, including: Alpha Sigma Tau, Alpha Omnicron Pi, Phi Sigma Phi, Gamma Phi Delta, and others. They are a great group of students!
Read Moremost are douchebags
Read MoreA decent amount students on campus are involved in Greek Life. There are two recognized fraternities and three sororities. Students can rush for either their second semester at school, assuming that they have the grades to participate. Many of the Greek life organizations participate in a lot of community service activities and give Hartwick a great name.
