    Join clubs, even if they don't interest you all that greatly, because it will help you make friends and feel less isolated. Stick to your values, they will be respected here no matter how different. Also, be sure to bring a couple pots and pans, as the dining commons is sometimes very bland.

    Go visit before you choose to attend, and don't just go on the days specific to you. I went to an event specifically for students of color and the bias was so skewed in terms of "Hampshire is great for POC and this it what is is going to be like." It isn't great for people of color, I'm always standing up for myself.

    Talk to your professors, take classes that sound interesting. Hampshire works best for students who's interest won't fit into a neat box so experiment as much as you can with inter-disciplinary work. One of the best pieces of advice a professor gave me was don't try and force connection right away. Go deep enough into your individual fields of study and the connections will make themselves.
