Since most students come to Foothill with the intention to transfer, it is extremely important that you figure out your intended major and the college you would like to transfer to, make an appointment with your counselor, and figure out all the classes you will need to take. This probably ought to be done within your first two quarters at Foothill, particularly if you are set on transferring within two years. Also, be prepared for a more limited social life than you may perhaps be used to, as most of the student body is focused on transferring to a university as soon as possible.

Walk around campus a little bit, see how you like the environment. Make sure to get in with the disabilities office as soon as possible if you are eligible, as it can get tough as the quarter goes on. Definitely email professors who are teaching classes you're interested in--they're all wonderful, supportive, and incredibly responsive to any questions or issues you may have.

I would especially recommend science major students to attend foothill if they want to complete all of their science classes in time and being able to take a good teacher.

Meet with your counselor and make an educational plan for the next two years. Also, check in with your counselor from time to time to make sure you are on track. Check Rate My Professor before registering for classes in order to ensure a good quarter. Also, join clubs and be active on campus!
