The fast food facilities on the campus are good however the main dining hall is sub par and I did not have a good experience.

The restaurants on campus are amazing and you are given many options: Chick-fil-a, Starbucks, Bagel Bros, Papa Johns, and even a Dunkin' Donuts coming later this fall (2016). However, the dining hall at SoVi wasn't the greatest while I was there and I hope for the sake of my fellow students stomachs that it has improved some.

I wish the school had more eating locations. SoVi Dining is okay. However, I got tired of eating there the first few weeks.

the dining on campus is great but in the resident hall, sovi have its off days. i personally don't have sovi swipes because i eat at random times. but sovi does provide vegan and vegetarian meals. the burgers are amazing but the main courses arent always that great. if you have unlimited swipes you cant swipe people in so if you know you eat a lot each day then do that but keep in mind eating sovi everyday is never anyone's reality. sovi does give you discount with other vendors on campus.

We have 5 sororities and 8 fraternities. Even with greek life, everyone is very friendly and I feel like there isn't much division between greeks and non-greeks. You will make friends no matter what you decide to do!

This is the one that a lot of people have questions about. So here it goes. There are approximately 5 Fraternities, 5 Sororities, and 5 or so Multicultural Organizations (both Fraternity and Sorority) FGCU as a institution has a Zero Tolerance policy for hazing, as many institutions do as well. But FGCU takes it a step farther. Their Judicial process for accused hazing organizations is not Innocent until proven Guilty in fact is quite the opposite. There was an organization on campus that was kicked off campus because of an alleged hazing incident. FGCU doesn't take it lightly and neither do I or does my organization Kappa Sigma. Anyways, continuing on from that slight depressed point, the GPC (Greek Programming Council) holds Greek Week every year on campus, in which all the organizations on campus are made into teams and compete against one another for prizes. It's a great time! Joining a Greek organization honestly isn't as bad as it sounds, It's not what it looks like in movies and in TV shows. There isn't parties every Saturday. It's a lot of hard work, to not only improve yourself and your campus but your community. Greek life holds you to a higher standard for learning, and guides you to become a better leader as well as a better student. As far as Greek Life at FGCU is concerned; It's growing and getting better. There's room for improvement. Only 6% of the students at FGCU are in a greek organization. Many of whom work on campus, for the school or are members of student government as well as on sports teams and full time workers at their respective jobs.

Our Greek life is pretty solid. We don't have Greek housing yet, but that doesn't take too much away from the experience.
