Mission Statement

Fairfield University is a comprehensive Jesuit institution that prepares students for leadership and service in a constantly changing world. Founded in 1942 after the purchase of the adjoining estates of Jennings and Lashar off North Benson Road in Fairfield, the University has grown from an initial class of 303 undergraduate male students admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences in 1947 into a coeducational university of more than 5,000 undergraduate, graduate, and continuing studies students enrolled in six distinct schools. Along the way, the University has awarded more than 45,000 degrees since 1951, and has developed a reputation for educational excellence both regionally and nationally.

I am definitely enjoying my time here. I met a lot of great people who I can see as being my close friends even after college. There are also numerous clubs and event at fairfield. I joint the Accounting, Asian, Volleyball and JUHAN clubs where i also met more people than i thought. The best way to enjoy yourself in Fairfield is to be out there and willing to take the initiative in the things you want to do.

A lot of people seem to go home on the weekends, but FUSA, the student organization plans a lot of activities and hires a lot of people (comedians, magicians, hypnotists, etc) every week, so there are options available. Also, FU is a 50 minute train ride to New York City, so you have the added bonus of having New York so close while still living in a quite peaceful town.
