Study hard, get involved, and have fun. Enjoy and take advantage of each and every opportunity you come across.

If you are interested in the science program this is the perfect place for you because of all the opportunities the school can provide for you! Don't come to Eckerd because you want to live on the water. It is a great school and will push you to do your best academically and to get involved. It will be easy to fall behind in work if you only focus on the beach. However, do enjoy the beach when you come! Not every campus can offer housing with a view of the water! It will be the same no matter what college you attend, but Eckerd likes to party. No one is excluded in said parties as Eckerd is one big family. There are plenty of other things to do on the weekends, but you will need to actively seek out people who are willing to go to a movie instead of party it up in one of the dorms. I don't party, and I have been able to find my group of people here!

Always read the EC-Book with all the Do's and Don'ts and NEVER skip class, even if the professor does not take attendance. It is always helpful to learn the names of the building, the dinning hours and quiet hours, which are very important.

They have a full Prospective Student Weekend, and this was where I met some of my first friends and experienced how much fun college would be. They also have an Autumn Term where only freshmen get to attend school and experience campus life. Also, the college is right on the water and 5 minutes away from St Pete Beach and Pass-a-Grille beach. I recommend talking to a professor a student and trying to figure out which degree path is right for you, and I know they are always super helpful in anything you ask of them.
