You'll hear this a lot about ECU, that is a large school with the feel of a small school and this is true in many ways. You'll feel like you can get to know a lot of people and make tons of friends but you can also meet your teachers and get close yo your professors and staff.

Out of most four year colleges, ECU would rate high on my scale. But mostly every university charges tremendously. The only one I've heard has good prices is Western Carolina University. While certain things like campus living and dining are expensive, once you don't live there the price drops a lot. I recommend avoiding buying books until you know for sure you need them.

ECU is one of the cheapest NC schools. If you want to be able to go to an affordable school that everyone knows and is familiar with, ECU is a good choice. They offer many different classes and have many clubs and Greek life to choose from.

The books are competitively priced (likely because their are about 6 bookstores in Greenville) and the courses are worth every penny.
