Tip 1: Many freshman have a hard time transitioning. If you didn't study in high school and you're used to it studying, and u get to college thinking you can get by with that, you are completely wrong. In order to have good grades and have a lot of doors open up for you, you must stay in good academic standing. Freshman year is important to your gpa. Start off strong and finish stronger. Tip 2: Ladies, don't come to Dillard freshman year trying to be hot and throw yourself at every upperclassmen that comes your way. I've seen people get their feelings hurt because they were too naive to realize that most of these young men just want to have sex with these young girls then tell their homeboys about it. Tip 3: Be completely honest whenever you guys are filling out your housing survey. You don't want to end up having roommate problems. Tip 4: STAY ON TOP OF FINACIAL AID THE SUMMER BEFORE ARRIVING!!!! You can't move in on move in day unless you've been cleared. Tip 5: Trouble is easy to get into around here. It's a pretty small school and things move around campus fast. If you have something negative to say about someone, keep it to yourself just to stay on the safe side. Don't cause any unnecessary drama for yourself and please watch who you befriend.

Read MoreI would suggest that prospective students enter the experience with an open mind, and that they understand the importance of challenging themselves first and foremost, because not every faculty member on campus will do so. It's in the student's best interest to begin taking the initiative upon being admitted to the university.
