    Be prepared to live in a large city if you are going to live in student housing. Visit the school ahead of time, if you can, and learn a little about the public transportation, i.e. Metro and MetroBus. There are so many different museums and galleries that you will never be able to see them all in one year.

    Be open for opportunities! You will work closely with your advisor, and they often recommend classes and events they think you will enjoy and benefit from. Take those classes and go to those events. You will be happy you did. Still, don't be afraid to create your own opportunities as well, because you definitely have the chance to create the experience you want out of college here.
