Find a balance between school and non school activities. Always go to class even if you don't feel like it ( you get points just for showing up). When you start taking you major classes, get to know your professor personally. Always ask for help/ get a tutor if you need one. Don't sleep between classes that are 1 or 2 hours apart unless you are the type of person that doesn't mind waking up. Be careful who you surround yourself with, people are very sneaky.

Read MoreSome tips I could offer would be to get to know your Professors. Don't be afraid to be the student to ask a lot of questions and receive help that is needed. Another tip would be to buy your books after you go to the class on the first day. I say this because most of your teachers wont require you to buy these expensive text books and you could get them cheaper online. I would also say to apply for work study early in the semester so you can receive help to pay for tuition. Coppin is not that expensive but if you know you don't have the money for school, please apply for a lot of scholarships. The last tip I could give would be to stay focused and don't let other people drama become yours.
