Committed to a personal approach, Colorado Mesa University is a dynamic learning environment that offers abundant opportunities for students and the larger community to grow intellectually, professionally, and personally. I do enjoy living on campus and being close to my classes, but the things that I don't like about living on campus can be expected of any other college. There is litter on the ground and the dorms have students in them that partake in alcohol and drugs and can be noisy at times, even during quiet hours. The town, for the most part, is friendly, but I would caution you to look out for the homeless as they can be somewhat militant.
Read MoreThere is always plenty to do on and around campus. Mesa is a great place for the outdoors type. We have a great program where we can rent tents and canoes, really anything you could ever need for out door fun. I love the people, and the community. Some of my best friends have been made in my first year of school.
Read MoreThe campus is absolutely beautiful! Every single building is either just renovated or brand-new. They are renovating the football and baseball stadiums for this fall, and they just opened 3 new dorms within the past 2 years. The population is big enough where you aren't in everyone's business, yet small enough where you can get to know everyone that you want to. An excellent pick if you want a superior small school.
Read MoreI can't count how many clubs, extracurricular activities, and events that are going on at Mesa right now. They just finished completing the new recreation center, so if the person coming in is a sportsy type, they can do basketball, raquetball, swimming, running... the list goes on and on. I do raquetball right now. And I'm looking to getting involved in the theatre clubs once Spring semester starts.
Read MoreLast year at Mesa I experienced what I had expected my first year of college to be. It challenged me and made me more independent, but wasn't to hard and I had time to make a lot of friends along the way. Mesa constantly provides fun occasions for the students, which kept the year feeling relatively stress free, and because of this I enjoyed my first year at Mesa very much and am looking forward to more great years to come.
