Read MoreFor fun....you have many options in my opinion. Besides the activities offered on campus, the intramural sports and other outdoor recreations, it just depends on what you want to do to have fun. The beach is in walking distance, and if that not enough, you can hop on public transportation and head down to Cannery Row for an afternoon, or old town Monterey for some sightseeing. You also have your occasional party that is offered by the clubs on campus, or you can just hang out with a group of friends. If you cannot find anything FUN to do, you are not looking because there is plenty.
Read MoreThe campus is located in a small community. We have the beach and a shopping center located about a 15-30 minute walk from school, as well as the Del Monte Shopping Center which is two-bus ride trip away. On campus we also have the Black Box Cabaret (BBC) which sometimes puts on performances or dances, which are usually free for students or might come with $2 buy-in at the door. The fun is usually what you make it yourself so be creative and be safe!
Read MoreThere's a beach that is a 30 minutes walk from the school. There's also stores down the street that would also take a 20-30 minute walk. There are activities sometimes on campus, but you usually don't see too many students outside unless it's a really sunny day and the weather is extremely weird here. With your tuition, though, you can get free transportation through the buses so you can go wherever you want. Even to San Jose and back for free.

Read MoreLots of great outdoor activities. Hikes, swimming, surfing, skating, visiting all the tourist spots, butterfly sanctuary, aquarium, santa cruz boardwalk, whale watching, on campus frisbee golf ropes course, paddle boarding, bonfires, dances, concerts, so much to do.
Read MoreNature enthusiasts, rejoice! CSUMB is located a mere half an hour away from the breathtaking Big Sur State Park and the world-famous Highway 1 scenic route. Those who love hiking, exploring nature, magnificent displays of marine life, or simply beautiful sunsets, this would be a great place for you. Those looking for raging parties on greek row may be looking at the wrong university. CSUMB has a much more relaxed, laid back pace compared to other urban universities. There is an incredible amount of history to see in Monterey as well as beautiful scenery. For the student who can enjoy a little peace and quiet on a foggy day, CSUMB is right up your alley!
