Although I never lived in the dorms at my University, the housing and residential life is an excellent way to meet people and explore the sunny city of Long Beach.…
CSULB can the unique ability to accommodate to the needs of Introverts and Extroverts alike. Depending on where you live on campus, it has the best of both worlds. If…
The dorms are a little bit small, but everyone is friendly.…
Dorming was one my best experiences. I would recommend all first year students to dorm. You get form great friendships and attend events that are available only to students that…
I never stayed in the dorms myself; however, from what I've heard it is a pretty average experience. The buildings are old, rooms are small, and students often lack wifi…
Our food is pretty bomb. A bit pricy though
Read MoreI have a commuters meal plan. I would say that the dining halls have pretty standard college dining hall options. Many of their dishes are very tasty though. I personally appreciate that the dishes are often rotated (one dish was most likely prepared 3 times a semester max). There is also a variety of international cuisines. I would recommend the California roll, ramen, and Mongolian beef. Additionally, there are several restaurants on campus. The main two cafeterias are on upper campus and are very accessible as they are near many of the classrooms. My favorite place to eat is Hibachi-san which serves poke; however, many students love the Nugget which is a burger joint. We are one of the only campuses to have a Coffee Bean and a Starbucks. We also have places to get boba and smoothies if that's more suited to you.
Read MoreI heard Long Beach food was good. There's plenty of local restaurants which you can use Dining Dollars and meal plans for, so there's bound to be something you like. And outside of the campus city, you could also find really good fries at the Aquarium of the Pacific's cafes and other food places. My brother constantly goes out to eat with his friends, and he lives from home a good 12 miles away. If that doesn't say something, I don't know what does.
Read MoreCafeteria, such as El Pollo Loco, Subway, Carl's Jr, and student dining halls, serve you quickly and do not mess up your order. Sadly, they do not have much to select and can be quite pricey those that are not fast food chain restaurants.
Read MoreThe food overall isn't terrible. Some days the dining halls provide a wide selection of appetizing food, while other days the food is not as great. We have alternative food selections which are great. We have places such as Subway, Panda Express, Sbarro, a Poke joint, Carl's Jr., Starbucks, Coffee Bean, and El Pollo Loco.
Read MoreIf you love coffee then you are in luck with two Starbucks and a Coffee Bean on campus. There are not a lot of food options but there is a Panda Express, Subway, Carl's Jr., and Sbarro Pizza among others.
Read MoreThe dining hall food is pretty delicious! Even if you travel to the other parts of campus there is a wide variety of food or drink places, such as Panda Express, Subway, Starbucks, and many more.
Read MoreI did quite enjoy the food.

Read MoreTo be completely honest, I do not know too much about our greek life; however, I do know that it is common to see proud and spirited clubs on campus and I've heard that they create a great community.
Read MorePlenty of dorms on campus and whatnot, but I do plan to live at home so this doesn't really apply. However, given the size of the dorms and the student body, I'm sure that there's plenty to be found, especially when considering the number of fraternities and sororities present alone, not to mention how diverse the members' interests in those actually are.
Read MoreThey are pretty out there on campus and friendly when you approach them.
Read MoreGreek life is a lot of fun if meeting new people, doing philanthropies, and of course partying is your thing. It is not the same as other campus' Greek life because there is no "frat row" at Long Beach State. Fraternity houses and sorority houses are located in different parts of the city but that does not stop Greek life from keeping you busy!
Read MoreThe Greek life is very active but expensive.
Read MoreI'm not part of Greek Life, but those of my friends who are, having nothing but good things to say about their Frats and Sororities. They speak highly of their brothers and sisters and ravish about the opportunities it gives them.
Read MoreI am a brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity! I love my chapter, along with Greek Life in General. Although Long Beach does not allow Greek Row, Greek Life is great at CSULB! If you want to make life lasting bonds, learn leadership and life skills, manage time well, help others, network, among so many more things join Greek Life!
Read MoreThere is not a greek lane, but sororities and frats do have individual houses spread around the Long Beach area. A few houses are a little bit past Long Beach; for example, in Signal Hill. I've heard pros and cons, but still I am looking foward in joining a sorority. The bill is expensive, but being in the greek system is worth it. They do party, get involved, most care for sister's/brothe'rs educational success, and do provide members with scholarship opportunities. The greek life here is pretty cool. In the past recruitment, there were about 500 females trying to join a sorority.
Read MoreI am unfamiliar with this, unfortunately. We do have a lot of sororities and fraternities, though. And this is, of course, due to our college being huge and diverse.
