Get involved with a club or simply go to different events hosted by the school in order to get the full experience. If you only go for your class and leave, you will think it is not worth it to come here. Go to games, events, or simply explore the campus so you can get a better feel for the experience.

Meet with an actual advising counselor before making schedule. I had a student help me with mine and it ended up extending graduation a whole semester for me.

Go into school here expecting to be hit with a bunch of unspoken expectations but do not let it deter you from forging your own path at school! Everyone is different and CBU makes room for that but you have to be motivated to find what you love and stick with it!

Do not apply. Other schools can provide a better education for the amount that you are willing to pay.

Take advantage of your FOCUS class. As a previous Focus Leader, I have seen the effort that goes into the New Student Program; I would encourage students to use it wisely. Also, apply for student leadership at some point. CBU is such a small campus; getting involved by committing to higher responsibilities will help you to stand out among others who do the bare minimum. Also, seek advice from professors. Most of them truly want to see their students succeed in all areas of life; so ask them questions whether or not they're academically related.
