I LOVED Soul Food Wednesday! I don't care what ANYONE has to say about it! I love the same 5-6 items they serve, it's always delicious to me. Anyway, unfortunately, we only have 3 options/places to get food from. The first one is the obvious, Cafe, and the food there is... a 3/5. Can't take any of the food from the Cafe out and they always take meal plan. Next, is The Pub and probably the best place to get your food especially when you're in a hurry. The Pub isn't open on weekends, but they're open and available for meal plan hours. Finally, there's small Cafes in some of the Academic Buildings on-campus and they serve small things like muffins, coffee/tea, juice, salad, etc and they also take meal plan.

I have had the food from the student center and it is not that bad. Since I am new here and I commute I do not know everything they serve, but I have heard they serve the same thing everyday and I have only ate there once. However, I do get some snacks from the vending machine whenever I get the chance to. In my opinions, the vending machine snacks and drinks do me well; Cheez It's and pink lemonade never fail me.

Food and dining is okay, it has its highs and also its lows. You just have to try everything for yourself and see if you like it or not. Soul food Wednesdays are bomb.

The cafe is good on most days if you get there first and if the food servers are in a good mood. I cannot personally say much but the fact that I rather go to the corner store on campus and buy frozen dinners I am familiar with and also snack sodas and drinks. The Wednesday deal are the best time to stock up your mini fridge!

The food is not good unless it is breakfast or brunch, on the weekends. They serve the same types of food a lot. There is the hot food, sandwich station, burger/ hotdog and fries station, pizza station, a station that makes random food like pasta or salads, the salad station, and the desert station.

Student Responses to Review Topic: Greek Life

Greek Life is HUGE at Bowie, and especially since the student body is so small, you'll know who's Greek within your first few weeks there. There are plots for each D9 org and when it gets warm, they usually host social events for the students! All of the D9 are at Bowie, so if you're interested, I say go for it! Do your research and please stay discreet because like I said, Bowie is a small campus so outting yourself can be easier than being at other schools.

The most popular fraternity you will hear and look out for are Ques (gold and purple) and the Kappas (red and white). As for the sororities, I would say the AKAs and the Deltas.

Greek life is active and very fun. Joining the right organization for you is very important. I for one chose to be a part of a professional nursing organization and its great because I have the bond of a sisterhood along with the opportunity to share my passion of nursing with all of my sorrors.

There are no fraternity or sorority houses on campus though some students can still be seen clad in the colors and letters of their respective organizations giving them a slight presence on campus.

There is definitely Greek life on campus. There are plots around campus where the Greeks hold barbecues and other events. They also host charity events, which are really nice.

The Greeks are really friendly. Bowie has all of the divine nine as well as other greek organizations that are not apart of NPHC. The frats throw a lot of parties which are really fun. You can't pledge until you are a sophomore, but be discrete and DO NOT SIT ON THEIR PLOTS UNLESS YOU ARE INVITED !!!!!!!!
