Go to the campus tours, they do a wonderful job showing you around and helping you understand the layout of campus. I also would say to try the food at both of the 2 dining halls, because neither one seems to be a favorite for everyone, and everyone prefers one or the other. Apply to housing early! You don't want the overflow hall, it is all the way across campus from the dining halls and most food places. I definitely recommend using rate my teacher to choose math teachers, because the math department is very, very hit or miss.

I would say please look into the Triple Discipline Degree! I wish I had signed up for that earlier than I did. It's a super cool program that allows me to study what I want but also give me a logical outlook on life with a Business Minor. Don't push away this degree because it sounds like it won't suit you!

don't ask if they have any information about future careers for your degree -- when i went for orientation, us pre-vet students were told we couldn't achieve our goals because they're unrealistic and should try something easier with a guaranteed job.

go with an open mind and a willingness to try new things- bsu is a great place to gain experience in many areas beyond your major. there's also plenty of opportunity to try your hand at various outdoor activities. step out of your comfort zone! communication is key. ask questions in class and email your professors when you have a problem. all of my professors so far have been quick to respond and have been extremely helpful. plus, some professors will be more likely to make adjustments/make exceptions to your grades if you make the effort to get to know them. the latter point isn't guaranteed, but is definitely a possibility! be involved. bsu has a lot to offer to those who take the time to participate within the school or within heir department. specifically, more involvement means more scholarships become available to you.
