bbc is a phenomenal school for those who are ministry focused, but as is often the case with such universities, it is easy to end n in a bit of a bubble. as far as on campus life goes, it is important that you plug yourself in immediately. find a professor who is willing to mentor you (they love to do that), find a church that you can serve in and people who will support you, and set up accountability systems if there is something that you struggle with. bbc can either be an incredible community and support system, or the most isolating place you will ever go. how that pans out is contingent upon how outgoing you are. do not assume that just because everyone is christian they will take innitative to get to know you. furthermore, because bbc is exclusively a bible college, you do not take the same courses as those in a normal institution would. this seems like a wonderful thing in theory because you have more time to spend on the bible and growing as a leader, but more often than not graduates are perceived by the outside world as completely nieve because they lack the same foundational knowledge as most people have. as a result, bbc students are often viewed by the non religious as ignorant, and unaware of viewpoints aside from their own. (even apologetics classes have a distinct christian lens and won't put much weight on the "good" arguments against christianity.) in order to prevent that, it is critical that if you decide to attend there, you make it your personal mission to be up to date on the perspectives those you are reaching are coming at life with. the school will not provide those tools for you, you have to take innitative. along those lines, although bbc is a non- denominational college, it is largely supported by restoration churches (church of christ/christian church) and there is a definite underlying current of that affiliation at the college. students are welcome to attend even if they are from a different background, but you may find it difficult to feel like you really belong. it is also important to consider that tie when considering which sort of church you would like to serve in in the future. however, in terms of academics, it makes very little difference.

Definitely consider this if you are looking at full-time ministry. Bigger schools like NCU and HIU are great, but they won't build into your faith the way BBC will.
