Make sure to stay on top of your work. Scheduling other activities and homework into your schedule is key. If you need help the student success center is there to help and can be a great resource. Most professors will also help if you go and talk to them an they will help you and can explain it one on one. Some of the counselors aren't as good as others, ask around and find the best counselor to talk to when transferring to another school.

I would advise students to get to know their resources and plan out their semesters. There are advisors who are happy to help you with your academic plans and the AWC website has a lot of resources available. I would also take advantage of the college's Student Success Center which houses the math and reading centers. You can use the computers or many tables and get help from a tutor that is certified or in process of certification.

Make sure you know where your class is at, so you don't find yourself having to walk all the way from the front parking lots to the back of the school.
