Student Responses to Review Topic: Food And Dining

The food at AU you have to make the best of. There is one dining hall and the food is okay but it's not the best, but it feeds you. There is a subway, a starbucks, an einsteins bagels and the tavern where you can get burgers, and pizza, and chicken tenders. Subway gets old fast and the line at Einsteins can be like 20 minutes long if you go at the wrong time. Since AU is in a city there are plenty of restaurants to go to off campus. Just down the street is Tenley town which has a whole foods, a cvs, a chik-fil-a and other places like that. Plus the metro is there and you can go into the city to find food too.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

The dinning hall is nice, but somewhat depressing with no windows as it is underground. Lots of other food options though, and the food tends to be quite tasty.

The food is meh. If you come between 2-5 pm don't expect to be fed in the main cafeteria, but you can always grab Elevation burger or Subway.

There is a main dining hall with a variety of food, including options for those with restrictive diets. There is also a burger place, pizza place, international cuisine place, a bagel place, as well as a Subway and Starbucks on campus and three other small independent coffee shops.

Student Responses to Review Topic: Greek Life

Although the school says that only 20-25% of the student body is in greek life, which is like 1 out of 4 people, it has a way bigger presence than they advertise. There are quite a few people actually involved with the frats and sororities but many people know someone in one of them and go to their parties and events. If you want to go to a frat party you kind of have to know someone there and they don't always like freshman going either.

There are probably more students involved in Greek life than the number quoted by the university but it is not overwhelming; you don't have to be go Greek to have a great social life!

Greek life is kind of mute at AU, but it is there. Deemed A presence, not a pressure, it is something that you do if you want to, but it doesn't over run the campus like at other institutions.
