I suggest taking a Personal Development class your first semester. They have specific assignments that teach you about scholarships, what kind of learner you are and what different departments on campus do for students. It was extremely helpful my first semester, and I use the things I learned as I continue to move forward in my college life.

Allan Hancock College is like giving yourself a break. Instead of paying inordinate amounts of many for a class, you can take pretty much the same class at AHC and save money. Also the notebooks, pens, pencils, scantrons, etc. can be bought inside the Bookstore for very low prices.
