    Actually care about what you are studying, and try to learn as much as you can. Lots of students here will pass with hardly any effort, but when they take a hard class, or transfer they end up failing.

    The core classes fill up fast, so sign up as soon as possible. Do the same for classes you really, really want, because they get cut if there aren't enough people registered. Stay on top of your online assignments, otherwise they're out of sight and out of mind.

    If you plan on going to Allan Hancock College, first become acquainted with the map of the campus, it's not too confusing, but it takes out some of the stress of getting to your classes, especially on the first day. Remember: the teachers want to teach you! If you put in the effort, you will definitely reap the reward of a good grade. Also keep in mind to be realistic about the hours you can devote to each class, especially if you have a job, kids, or other responsibilities. Register as soon as possible because the classes you may be set on may run out of room, however there may be students who drop out early so if you are really set on a class get on the wait-list. Reading the textbook material and taking notes will save your life, don't be a passive student and expect the highest grade.
