UNO Soccer Academy High School

Program Description

The United Neighborhood Organization (UNO) was established in 1984 as a community organization focused on building grass-roots leadership within the Hispanic community in order to address local issues such as prevalent street violence and overcrowding in schools. For nearly three decades UNO has been challenging Hispanics to play active roles in the development of a vital American community. The central principal behind UNOâ??s philosophy is a strongly held belief that Hispanics must be challenged to take full advantage of American possibilities through deep investments in family, civic involvement, and in the education of the next generation.

The UNO Charter School Network seeks to redefine the culture and expectations of public education, especially among minority students. By providing a rigorous curriculum in a well-managed, structured environment, UNO will demonstrate how all children, regardless of their income level or ethnicity, can learn.
