Program Description

The University of New Orleans Jefferson Parish Upward Bound is an academic support and college prep program that serves approximately 60 students at Riverdale High School and East Jefferson High School. These students are picked up as freshman or sophomores and stay with JPUB for the duration of their high school and college years, and remain in our system two years beyond college graduation. As all TRIO programs, JPUB is a program aimed at low-income, first-generation college goers with the intent of preparing and supporting their journey to and through college. JPUB is active in each of the schools it serves one full day every week meeting with students to ensure they remain on track, assist with any tutoring they might need, and provide college-search resources such as College Greenlight.
