Program Description

The Educational Talent Search (ETS) Project of the University of Connecticut is a federally funded TRIO program that provides free college, career, and financial aid information to over 600 middle school and high school students each year. ETS identifies and selects students who demonstrate the potential for postsecondary enrollment and provides them with the motivation and support to enroll in a program of postsecondary education (college, university, technical or vocational school) after high school graduation. In addition to individual and group advising, college visits, and career exploration activities participants receive information about college admissions, scholarships, and financial aid.

Success Stories

"As a high school student ETS fulfilled my curiosity about what college would look like for me, especially when college seemed like an option and not an obligation. Without the assistance of ETS during my high school years, I do not think I would have valued the significance of having a 'college experience'. I am very thankful to have had the support of ETS to help me during my journey to college." --Toddchelle Young, ETS Class of 2008
