Program Description

OUR GOALS ARE TO HELP TRIBAL STUDENTS GRADES 6-12:

STAY IN SCHOOL | PROGRESS IN SCHOOL| COMPLETE SCHOOL

OUR PLEDGE TO EACH PARTICIPANT:

*To help identify potential academic areas of opportunities, process behavioral health matters, and assist tribal students in gaining knowledge and attitudes needed to be an effective learner.

*Provide tutoring at no charge to eligible tribal students which will include but not limited to LEAP, iLEAP, ACT, EOC, and writing courses.

*An Academic Counselor will mentor students by meeting with them at least two (2) times each month to monitor academic progress, help resolve conflicts, and cope with challenges.

*Academic Counselors will act as advocates for the students, coordinate services, provide ongoing feedback and encouragement, and emphasize the importance of staying in school.

*To provide College & Career planning which will include preparations for College, Vo-Tech, Military, and Workforce.

*Cultural Enrichment will be offered through the Language and Cultural Department of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe; this will include both onsite and offsite educational and cultural events.
