Program Description

For more than 25 years the Wight Foundation has been providing superior opportunities for young men and women of the Greater Newark New Jersey area to achieve academic excellence and personal development within a boarding school environment. Established in 1986 by Mr. Russell B. Wight, Jr., the Wight Foundation plays an active role in supporting and encouraging scholars to excel in the academic arena in preparation for their college experiences.

The Wight Foundation is a family foundation in every sense of the word, creating a community of trust, commitment and support. Special emphasis is placed on guiding scholars to grow as proactive individuals, to develop leader-ship skills and to explore the world around them. Wight Foundation Scholars are highly motivated students who are bright, goal-oriented and articulate. They possess unlimited potential and the enthusiasm to succeed. They enter college and the professional world prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
