Program Description

The Church Farm School (CFS), founded in 1918, is a college preparatory, independent, boarding and day school for boys in grades 7 through 12. Located in beautiful central Chester County, PA, the school is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools, the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools, and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Originally established to serve the needs of boys from single parent homes, it is now the mission of CFS to provide a rigorous, well-rounded, college preparatory education in a Christian, caring environment that will best prepare our students for productive and fulfilling lives. (Student Handbook, 2013)

CFS has an enrollment of 190 students in grades 7 through 12, with a group of 35 seniors expected to graduate in June 2014. We are committed to diversity at CFS, and well over half the student body is made up of minority and international students. The overwhelming majority of CFS graduates go on to four-year colleges and universities for further study. There are thirty members of the teaching faculty, most of whom hold advanced degrees.

Minimum graduation requirements at CFS include 22.9 credits, distributed as follows: English (4 credits), mathematics (3 credits), social studies (4 credits), laboratory science (3.4 credits), modern foreign language (2 credits), fine art (1 credit), technology education (0.5 credit), world religions (0.5 credit), health (0.5 credit), PE/Work (1 credit), and free electives (3 credits). A variety of Advanced Placement and Honors courses are offered to qualified students.
