Program Description

TCU College Advising Corps, housed in the TCU College of Education's Center for Public Education, aims to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students entering and completing higher education. To do so, TCU College Advising Corps works in partnership with seven independent school districts and 24 high schools in Tarrant and Dallas counties. By placing recent TCU graduates as advisers in underserved high schools, College Advising Corps is working in the greater Fort Worth region to provide the advising and encouragement our students need to navigate the college admissions process. Advisers work full time to help students plan their college searches, complete admissions and financial aid applications, and enroll at schools that will serve them well.

TCU joined College Advising Corps in 2011 with 16 college advisers and quickly grew to 24 the following year. Today, the program works to reach more than 40,000 high school students each year through advisement, activities and events, and the establishment of college going cultures.
