Take Stock in Children-DeSoto, Hardee, and Highlands

Program Description

The South Florida State College Foundation, Inc. exists to enhance community awareness of the college. Funds received by the Foundation are distributed to benefit and advance the college and to encourage and subsidize its students, staff, and programs. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation provides educational facilities and low-cost housing opportunities for SFSC students.

Success Stories

The SFSC Foundation is also the lead agency for Take Stock in Children, a program aimed at assisting low-income, high-risk students attend college. The Take Stock in Children program has had several students graduate from South Florida State College and go on to attend numerous 4-year institutions in Florida. With the help of the SFSC Foundation, several Take Stock students have graduated with a bachelors degree.
