Program Description

The Science Technology Entry Program (STEP) at Barnard College provides a multi-faceted approach to providing assistance to eligible students in acquiring the skills, attitudes, and abilities necessary to pursue professional or pre-professional study in post-secondary degree programs in scientific, technical and health-related fields. Through an interdisciplinary approach of activities, experiences, and services Barnard STEP exposes eligible students to concrete aspects of the scientific, technical and health-related disciplines. Through collaborative partnerships in community stakeholders, the program aims to increase the persistence of eligible students in STEM, while ensuring their successful college placement and degree attainment.
