Founded in 1997, Scholars' Hope Foundation, formerly El Viento, has evolved into a successful college access program. Through our program, the lives of youth in low-income communities are transformed through a long-term commitment resulting in 100% of our students reaching higher education. The academic journey of our scholars and their families begins in the 5th grade and is guided through high school and college.
Our commitment to our mission is built around the belief that all students, regardless of their background, can succeed if given time and support. We foster the confidence and skills necessary for success in college and the workplace.
Our scholars have big dreams! These dreams have the power to guide and encourage students to explore a variety of possibilities. Through our commitment that reaches beyond a decade, students learn to push through obstacles, manage priorities, and discover the joy of learning. Most of our scholars will be the first in their families to complete higher education. Their accomplishments have a far-reaching impact not only in their personal lives, but also the lives of their families, friends, and neighbors. This is why our scholars become leaders within their own communities.
