Project Prepare

Program Description

For more than 25 years, Youth Guidance's Project Prepare program has been providing at-risk Chicago Public School students with learning opportunities designed to develop current and future career interests. The support offered through Project Prepare has ensured that at-risk students are empowered with the key life skills and resources necessary to make a successful transition into high school, and move on to the post-secondary education or employment opportunity of their choice. Project Prepare's main goal is to empower youth to become socially and economically self-sufficient through increased high school graduation, employment, and college enrollment rates.

Project Prepare incorporates a series of individual and group components that include: case management, career and post-secondary counseling, job readiness training, job placement services, college application and transition seminars, and ongoing job coaching for employed students.

Project Prepare currently serves high school juniors and seniors at Roberto Clemente, Wells Community Academy, Kelvyn Park, and Harper High Schools.
