Program Description

Funded by the Lana Vento Fund for the Virgin Islands, The Next Generation Scholars Program (NGSP) seeks to provide first generation college bound students enrolled in public schools on St. Thomas with the coaching and support necessary to help them achieve their dreams of higher education. Beginning as early as their sophomore year, eligible Scholars are supported in high school through the admissions process, provided further support to ensure success in college, and prepared to be mentors to others in the Virgin Islands. The program works with parents, mentors, donors, school personnel, and educational institutions to prepare Scholars for higher education and success in life. Parental participation is a key component of the program and is done through workshops, seminars, and individual family meetings.
