Program Description

The NYPL's College and Career Pathways program is designed for two different groups of constituents. First, we offer easily and readily accessible postsecondary programs to all members of the public who are welcome to take advantage of the resources that we have to offer at any time. These programs cover different topics under our three main CCP themes: College Readiness, Career Readiness, and Adulting Skills. Teens and their families can also take advantage of our CCP 1-on-1 sessions, where they can register to speak with a CCP specialist librarian, who can assist them 1-on-1 with the any of the processes of applying to college or entering the workforce.

Second, we offer a more rigorous program to teens ages 13-18 who are registered members of our Intensive College and Career Pathways program (ICCAN). Completion of the ICCAN program can qualify participants to receive a Magic Grant, a grant which participants can use towards any endeavor that they believe will help them advance their college and/or career success.

The CCP's main learning goal is to increase equity of access for under-served youth to typically higher-resourced opportunities for post-secondary planning and readiness, thereby advancing our communityâ??s successful preparation and completion of college degree programs and workforce entry.
