Upward Bound is a college access and preparation program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored by North Dakota State University. It is designed to help students succeed in high school and prepare for continued success in college. Upward Bound provides students with academic, cultural and social activities that build skills, motivation, and self-confidence. Services and activities include tutoring, academic skills development, academic advising, career exploration, ACT preparation, college visits, and preparing for applications such as college admission, FAFSA, and scholarships. The NDSU Upward Bound program is funded to serve fifty-two eligible students in grades 9-12 from target high schools. Those schools include Davies, Fargo North, and Fargo South.
