Program Description

Mentors, Inc was founded in 1987 to provide high school students in the District's public high schools with adult mentors able to contribute to their personal, academic and career development. As of 2017, we refocused the students' mentoring year on career exploration with STEM, to prepare them for the 21st century workforce. By linking our city's professionals with young people, we are changing lives. Since 1987, we have provided mentors for more than 4,000 D.C. youth. Mentors, Inc. has three full-time staff, and serves 100 students a year.
