Program Description

Upward Bound is a federally funded grant program designed to assist first-generation, economically disadvantaged high school students in developing the skills and the motivation to succeed in college. Upward Bound participants receive academic advising, standardized test preparation, tutorials, scholarship and financial aid assistance, cultural enrichment, career exploration assistance, and college campus tours. Our program currently serves a total of 67 students from MacArthur High School and Nimitz High School and a total of 58 students from Eisenhower High School and Aldine High School. A total of 125 students are provided services through the Lone Star College-North Harris Upward Bound program.
