Program Description
Minnesota's KIPP Through College & Career program believes that every student deserves to have the opportunity to attend and complete college, so we make sure that all KIPP MN alumni have the supports to do so. Our KIPP Through College & Career program starts supporting students in middle school, guiding them to and through high school and college completion through academic, social, and financial advising and programming.
High School Placement
KTCC provides high school placement supports to our eighth grade students to ensure that they have the opportunity to attend college-preparatory high schools. The KTCC staff advise students throughout the high school placement process, from initial wish list creation to matriculation. Additionally, eighth grade students and their families learn about how KTCC will support them during high school and to and through college or career.
High School Transition
All alumni who complete eighth grade at KIPP receive individualized guidance from their KIPP Through College & Career alumni advisor. Freshman and sophomore years are focused on adjusting to high school and getting a strong academic start.
College Match
KIPP Through College & Career guides high school juniors and seniors to research and identify their future college options, through building wish lists, completing college applications, securing financial aid, and ultimately enrolling in college.
College Persistence & Career Advising
Students are matched with a College Persistence Advisor who tracks their progress throughout college and provides support needed to successfully navigate higher education and prepare for their careers.
