Program Description

IECC Upward Bound is a federally funded educational preparatory program designed to provide academic support, personal/career counseling, and cultural enrichment to participants who have the academic ability to be successful in college. This program serves approximately 75 students each year.

The need for this program exceeds the number of students who can be served; therefore, the program is seeking ONLY those with the desire to excel in education and life and participate in ALL aspects of the Upward Bound Program.

The program seeks to develop a sense of pride and self worth in students who are willing to strive for their full potential. The program's philosophy is to develop leadership, motivation, and academic excellence, while giving the necessary survival skills to prepare for life beyond the educational setting.
