The Career and College Readiness Program (CCRP) uses funding from the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) to engage with a group of 35, low-income high-school youth who are between the ages of 16 and 18 and either live or go to school in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. CCRP is a case management program based out of the Arts and Technology Center of Howard Area Community Center. The program helps its students achieve their unique personal, career, and academic goals. For example, we help our students search and apply for colleges and scholarships; navigate budgeting; obtain financial aid and financial literacy; find employment, extracurricular activities, and internship opportunities; build resumes and prepare for interviews; work out social problems and pursue counseling; study for the ACT; maintain or improve their grade point average; explore alternative options for post-secondary education, and much more.
