Girls Inc. of YWCA Nashville & Middle TN

Program Description

Girls Inc. serves 19 Metro Nashville Public Schools ranging from ages 6 to 18 years old. Girls Inc. is dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold and provides innovative, girl-centered programming during the school day that encourages girls to take healthy risks, resist peer pressure and discover their true potential. The Girls Inc. mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Our mission is the cornerstone of our Girls Inc. experience that equips girls to navigate gender, economic and social barriers and grow into healthy, educated and independent adults. The Girls Inc. experience consists of people, an environment and programming that, together, empower girls to succeed. Trained staff and volunteers build lasting, mentoring relationships in pro-girl spaces that are welcoming, inclusive and physically and emotionally safe. In this space, girls find a sisterhood of support with a shared drive, mutual respect, and high expectations. Hands-on, research-based programs provide girls with the skills and knowledge to set goals, overcome obstacles and improve academic performance.

Girls Inc. has been around for over 152 years and we have been in Nashville since 2008. We are able to provide workshops with our curricula, lead camps and provide a safe and enriching environment for girls.
