Program Description

Girls Incorporated of Monroe County's mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Our vision is empowered girls in an equitable society. Girls Inc. of Monroe County is one of the nearly 88 affiliates of national Girls Inc. As the oldest girl-centered organization in the U.S., Girls Inc. has been transforming girls' view of themselves and their opportunities for generations. Girls Inc. has responded to the changing needs of girls and their communities through research-based programming (after school programs, day camps, and organized sports leagues) that is compensatory, intentional, results-driven, and oriented toward individuals served. Programming falls into one of six categories within a structured program matrix: Self Reliance & Life Skills, Culture & Heritage, Leadership & Community Action, Careers & Life Planning, Health & Sexuality, and Sports & Adventure.
