Program Description

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a statewide federally funded grant serving 2,000 income eligible students across the state of Wyoming. GEAR UP is equipped to provide seventh through twelfth grade students with a wide range of academic assistance to prepare them for college; our services include tutoring, ACT/SAT preparation, mentoring, career exploration and job shadowing, college shadowing, and assistance with understanding the college selection, application, and financing processes. Additionally, GEAR UP offers family events, college visits, educational field trips, information on financing for college, and workshops for parents. GEAR UP Wyoming is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education totalng $3,548,876 annually with an additional $3,548,876 annually provided by in-kind and scholarship contributions.
