Program Description

Fayetteville State University's Upward Bound Program is a federally funded program designed to provide academic support services and educational opportunities to high school participants to assist them with preparing for college.

As the first national college access program, we have a strong track record of motivating low-income and first-generation students to go to college. There is no cost for any services provided by our program. As an Upward Bound Scholar you will have opportunities that support you with not only school success but exposure to college opportunities throughout the nation. As an Upward Bound Scholar, you will have the opportunity to come on the campus of Fayetteville State University, bi-weekly, to attend the Saturday Academy which supports your math, science and English abilities. Our Scholars also participate in a summer program, where you have the opportunity to have the college living experience for six weeks. One of great benefits of Upward Bound is rigorous academic environment in addition to the cultural exposure where Scholars attend play/musical productions and visit historical and cultural sites.
