Program Description

College Opportunity Resources for Education (CORE) is a federal tax-exempt organization designed to help families get to and through college. Our premier program, the CORE Promise Scholarship, offers Philadelphia resident students scholarship dollars to attend select Pennsylvania colleges and universities. Over the past nine years, CORE has awarded over 16,000 Philadelphia students a total of more than $27 million dollars. We nurture student leaders through the CASA program. CASA (CORE AmeriCorps Success Ambassadors) is a public service fellowship offering college students a monetary education award following community service. In 2012, we launched the CORE RISE Scholarship. RISE (Reaching Independence by Saving for Education) is a matched savings program offering low-income families up to an 8:1 match for savings towards postsecondary education expenses.
