Communities in Schools Cleveland County

Program Description

The Cleveland Challenge, a group of community leaders dedicated to establishing community excellence, brought the Communities In Schools (CIS) model to Cleveland County in 1991, as one answer to the critical concern for education. Beginning with students in 1992, Communities In Schools of Cleveland County has grown from three elementary sites to eight elementary school sites, four middle school sites, four high schools and multiple community programs. The goal of Communities In Schools of Cleveland County is to provide a continuous network of support for students from birth through graduation and beyond in order to help students be successful in school and in life.
