The College of St. Ignatius of Loyola is a Catholic college of preparation for the university. It is run by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and lay collaborators with the purpose of helping talented young people from all socioeconomic levels to become competent and dedicated Christians in their community. The fundamental purpose of the College is to try to stimulate the basic knowledge of the true and dynamic presence of God in the nature and history of Humanity, through programs that enable the student to extend both his experience and his intellectual capacity. Students are helped to deepen their knowledge of the Judeo-Christian heritage in order to become authentic witnesses of the living Christ. In this way, the student will be able to respond to the divine invitation to live and love. This commitment and personal interest demands an incessant search for truth and cultivation of loyalty to themselves and the positive values of human life. For this reason, we invite our students to repudiate all prejudice, intolerance and selfishness that distorts or distorts the human perception of reality and that makes a true and Christian social order impossible. To assist our students in conquering such liberation, the College, in cooperation with its parents, who have primary responsibility for the education of their children, provides students with the educational experiences that enable them to develop the capacity to think constructively, Reason independently and accept responsibility for the continuous self-evaluation and development of their own values. All the staff of the College has committed, in its individual character and as an educational community, to give a testimony of faith and professional growth in order to be able to help the parents in the education of their children. Consequently, when the parents decide to send their children to San Ignacio, they are clearly demonstrating that they are in agreement with the goals and philosophy of the College and that at the same time they commit themselves to a total cooperation in the common enterprise of preparing their children So that these, in turn, promise to be creative agents of a society permeated by evangelical values. On the other hand, the students of San Ignacio promise to be receptive to all the experiences and resources available to them in the College, carrying out a process of self-education, creative achievements, and integration in their person of the shared values of the College. In addition, they will be willing to comply with the rules so that there is a good order and to cooperate in the joint projects for the benefit of the community of San Ignacio now and that in which they coexist in the future.
