TRiO Programs are federal outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged and first-generation college backgrounds. Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) hosts two of the TRiO Programs: Educational Talent Search (ETS) and Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS). These two programs assist students in completing their secondary education and successfully transition into post-secondary education.
TRiO programs at Central Connecticut State University strives to create an atmosphere where eligible participants are academically prepared, intellectually challenged, nurtured and exposed to experiences that enhance their potential to succeed on the secondary level and in higher education, while also promoting personal growth and cultural diversity.
Our ultimate goal is to help youth that are from disadvantaged, underrepresented backgrounds, graduate high school and then enroll in post-secondary education.
