Educational Talent Search (ETS) at Central Connecticut State University is a federally funded, early intervention TRiO program that offers support and guidance for students to complete high school and pursue a college education. The program will identify and assist 500 students in grades 6-12, who are enrolled in the Consolidated School District of New Britain. TRiO ETS students must be from populations traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education (i.e., first generation potential college and low-income students).
In addition to counseling and tutoring, students receive information about college admissions requirements, scholarships, and various student financial aid programs. We provide services that will assist students in graduating from high school and enrolling in the college or university of their choice. This concentrated effort helps young people to better understand their education opportunities and career options. More than 321,000 Americans are enrolled in 452 TRiO Educational Talent Search Programs across the nation.
