Carl Sandburg Upward Bound

Program Description

The purpose of the Sandburg Upward Bound program is to prepare selected Knox County area high school students to succeed in a program of postsecondary education.

The project is designed to academically prepare students in order to successfully complete high school and to then move on and complete a postsecondary degree program at an institution of higher education. Upward Bound provides an academically motivated environment in order to promote educational success.

Once a student has been selected to participate in the program, he or she will continue to receive Upward Bound services throughout their high school career. Participants of TRIO Upward Bound attend all functions and activities at no cost to them.
